At 0424 UTC on 09 Oct 2012 a merchant vessel reported an approach by 1 white coloured skiff with 7-8 persons aboard at position 13 18N 057 17E.

UPDATE:  At 0732 UTC a skiff was reported at  13 14N 057 20E with 6 persons and a ladder aboard.


Vessels are advised to exercise extreme caution if in the vicinity, and report any suspicious activity to UKMTO.

Vessels should also report to UKMTO (UKMTO@eim.ae or Telephone+971 50 552 3215) on entering the UKMTO Voluntary Reporting Area (VRA) bound by Suez, 78E and 10S.

Thereafter vessels should report their position, course and speed daily.
